I still use boost pedals with it - like a lot of Marshalls, it loves an SD-1 or an OD808. I run the Gain up just past noon, which is sorta like stepping on a booster with an 800. If you turn the Pre to 10 and leave the Gain at 10 (all the way down), you have essentially very close to a JCM800. The second is diode clipping, and goes from 10-20. The first one goes from 0-10, and is a tube stage. Like the Dual Reverb, the Mk III has 2 gain knobs, Preamp/Volume and Gain/Sensitivity. I go through a lot of amps, my son who is a better player than me says this is the best sounding one that's been through, and I am not to sell it under any circumstances lol. I picked one up a couple months back from here, and it is a rock n roll mocheeeen. Mk III is single channel with dual master volumes, footswitchable - an incredibly handy feature I wish all my amps had. There was also the Mk III, which was released at the same time as the Dual Reverbs, but had a very short run. Click to expand.Yeah, the above came in 50W and 100W, both heads and combos.
